The US Constitution requires that a population and housing count be taken every 10 years. This information is used to determine our congressional representation and how much funding is allocated to each community for senior citizens programs, schools, health care services and much more. In March 2010, you will receive a short questionnaire from the U.S. Census. Please take 10 minutes to answer the 10 easy questions. Questionnaires are available in six different languages. Hamilton Township is a township of the second class and is governed
by a Board of Supervisors who are elected to six-year terms. The
board is responsible for all Township policies and legislation that
govern this community. Part of its job is to appoint members to
the Planning Commission, the Zoning Hearing Board, and to make other
appointments as it deems necessary. The population of Hamilton Township
is approximatly 8,235. The Township covers approximately 38.5 square
miles with 79.94 miles of Township roads and 59.5 miles of state
roads. The Township Building is located on Fenner Avenue in Sciota.
